EMPTY DAWN

EMPTY DAWN by Ekaterina Grigorova

Ekaterina Grigorova is a Bulgarian poet and a teacher in the Department of Mediterranean and Eastern Studies at New Bulgarian University. She is the author of two books of poetry: Faraday’s Cage (Janet 45, 2013) and The Board on the Wet Sand (Ergo, 2014). Her second collection, The Board on the Wet Sand, was awarded the National Binyo Ivanov Prize. Empty Dawn contains spaces of separation - those we are about to leave or those we will never see again. Uniting for verses is therefore work with the last moment. The poems seal a picture that is about to change, disappear, fall apart. Hence the specific melancholy of writing that seeks to hold and extend the vanishing worlds within.
